An Ode to coffee enthusiasts Hooked On a Feeling (click on it, I dare you) An Ode to coffee enthusiasts By: Hilary Lemonick, Senior Manager of Content I write this poem and sing this song to give credit where credit is due, To celebrate a shining star, a beacon of light, otherwise known as your morning brew. When my screeching alarm sounds each morning waking me for the day, I jump out of bed with a burning desire to sip some coffee and slay. I remember my first taste, during finals week Sophomore year, I brewed a blonde roast and drank it black and almost shed a tear. So many notes, so many flavors all blended together in MY cup, But my favorite part of that cup o’ joe was the rush of energy that made me WAKE UP. Soon thereafter I was ripping through my textbook studying like never before, And all of a sudden I was packing up my bag and heading out the door. Since that moment coffee has always been an everyday essential for me, And to those of you who claim you don’t need it, good luck surviving off of green tea.
